  • Attendance as spectators at the traditional “Pesca alla Tratta” reenactment. The event takes place on May 28th at 5:00 AM, at the free beach of Ponente in front of the Congrega Velisti Cesenatico.

The tratta is an ancient traditional fishing technique from the Romagna Riviera, now increasingly rare, and a true cultural heritage of the area. It is a fascinating and engaging event that captivates visitors thanks to its simplicity and strong connection to maritime traditions.

This practice takes place directly on the beach in front of spectators: a small boat carries a long fishing net out to sea, which is then slowly pulled back to shore. It is hauled in by two groups of fishermen, known as “trattaroli”, working in perfect synchrony with rhythmic and harmonious movements.

The net retrieval becomes a unique spectacle, almost like a silent dance made of ancient, coordinated gestures passed down through generations. Attending the tratta in Cesenatico means experiencing an authentic moment deeply connected to the history, culture, and traditions of the sea.
